School – and then what?

You are close to graduation and you don’t know yet what to do for a living? How about a vocational education as real estate agent? VEBOWAG, Vereinigte Bonner Wohnungsbau AG, could be your future employer.

VEBOWAG? That is a housing company with communal majority interest. For more than 60 years, we have been ensuring modern and affordable housing space in Bonn. Almost one fifth of the residents in Bonn are our tenants. We are somewhat proud of that, since high-priced is what everybody can do!

Our tenants are our customers – and their wishes take centre stage. Whether top manager living in a luxury flat, people with migration background, families with children or single parents – they all are equally important to us. If you have flexibility and empathy, this profession would be perfect for you.

What we expect from you?

School grades do matter; however, they are by far not the only criterion. The so-called “soft skills” are also very important to us: you should like working in a team, be communicative, and have lots of fun dealing with people. Correct: an interest in real estate is of advantage! Economical, legal, social, and, last but not least, technical interest round out your profile? Then the vocational education as real estate agent with VEBOWAG is exactly your cup of tea!

Prerequisites at a glance:

  • Advanced vocational certificate of education (AVCE) or higher education entrance qualification
  • Commercial and social interests
  • Enjoyment of real estate
  • Sociability
  • Taking pleasure in service and customer-oriented work
  • Good English and Office programme skills

What do real estate agents actually do?

They deal with all questions around flat rental and management. With us, however, the counselling of tenants, also in fields exceeding their own four walls, plays an important role. This is why social skills are that important.

What is awaiting you during vocational education?

The officially recognised qualified job as real estate agent is super rich in variety and is great fun: to help other people will give you confirmation and motivation right from the beginning. The vocational training stretches over a period of three years and is performed in the dual system. With us, you will mainly get to know the practical part of this job while the vocational school will impart background knowledge.

Your career perspectives

After having completed your vocational training, countless career options will open up to you: housing companies, building contractors and brokers as well as real estate departments of banks and insurers. Or you add studies and qualify for Master of Business Administration, business administrator, bachelor, or master.

Interested? If so, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail, phone, or personally. We will welcome you at any time!
